As a Clinical Psychologist, I work with people psychodynamically. Psychodynamic therapy involves exploring and reflecting on relationships with others in the past and the present, including childhood. Together we explore how this impacts present relationships and their dynamics. Through a nurturing and safe relationship in the therapy room, we seek to deepen your understanding of your sense of self.
Through therapy there is a deepening of your sense of self. By asking the difficult questions in a therapy space, and fostering self-compassion and self-acceptance, this depth can be safely explored.
It is through being curious, reflecting on past experiences, contemplating and naming that which is causing distress, that a sense of understanding, wholeness and integration can occur.
As the Clinical Psychologist, I offer a space of listening and reflection. For you, this space is about being heard, understood, made sense of, and integrating the fragmented elements into a whole person. I strive to provide a warm, thoughtful, safe and supportive space within which to help you understand yourself and your life experiences.
“Meaning is the sister to experience and to discern meaning of what has happened to you is one of the essential ways of finding your inner belonging” John O’ Donohue.
Therapy is the journey towards integration, wholeness, identity and piecing together the fragments of life. Integration is a vital part of coming home to yourself; it’s an invitation to wholeness. What is not integrated, remains fragmented and can cause great conflict or pain.
Therapy provides the space to grieve or process experiences, thus allowing for the creation of newness in your life. It is a space to share pain without fear of rejection or judgement. By being curious, compassionate, and through the awareness of your emotions, therapy guides you to understanding and accepting your self.
